How to get there by car or private transport

The private cars have their access to the Ronda Sur. Go to the Granada ring road, southward (Motril) has once lined the city, find the address Alhambra (Ronda Sur) to the parking of the monument, where we encourage you to leave your vehicle. How to get there by bus or taxi?

Urban Taxi or Minibus: Both stop in Plaza Nueva. Lines 30 and 32 of the urban bus, have the following stops on the grounds of the Alhambra:

  1. 1 The ticket office (entrance pavilion).
  2. 2 Heads Tower, near the Carlos V Palace and the Nasrid Palaces.
  3. 3 the Gate of Justice, the closest to the Alcazaba.
VERY IMPORTANT

In most of the Information published, it still appears that access to the Alhambra on the public bus, line 30, is from New Square. This is not really so. In recent months Gomérez Slope Street is closed to traffic because of the restoration work taking place in the Gate of Pomegranates.

The duration of these works is anticipated long, so it has moved out of the line 30 and 32 to the Plaza de Isabel la Católica, about 100 meters from Plaza Nueva. The new bus stop is, specifically, to the back of the monument of Queen Isabella and Christopher Columbus.

How to get to the Alhambra on foot?

If you like to walk, the best option is to go up on foot from Plaza Nueva, through the forest, along Cuesta de Gomérez street or go up Cuesta de los Chinos street, from Paseo de los Tristes or through the neighborhood Realejo, to the Alhambra Palace Hotel from Campo del Principe square. All the options on foot represent a climb, quite steep, of approximately 1 km.
